Iphone 4S: Identical Look, Only Brainier.
Many were taken by surprise on the release of Iphone 4S. Most of who are waiting for Iphone 5 is disappointed, and there are also those who instantly fell in love with this brainier Iphone 4. There are no eye catching changes looking at it for the first time. This is a real downer for those who love to brag that they’ve got the latest gadget. Well, at least their old covers would still fit. Pretty economical for them though.
iPhone 4S Review
Apple has minimally altered the design of the Iphone 4s. The antenna system was changed to a dual-band antenna design from a heartbreaking antenna gate situation we experienced with its predecessor. Hopefully, we can count on Apple when they say that we can expect better call quality. Now, let’s take a look on its internal overhaul. There are three main reasons why Iphone 4s is brainier. A camera upgrade to 8MP plus improved aperture ration, a dual core A5 processor that offers seven times increase on graphic performance, and Siri, the new voice assistant, our new best friend.
The camera is one of the best cameras in a handset out in the market. It has 8MP camera with full HD 1080p video recording capabilities. The camera can give you the comfort of having a digital camera with sharp and clean images. The video is focused and has minimal dropped frames except it captures a lot of unwanted noises though. Also, I must say Iphone 4s has a better hardware configuration. The dual core a5 processor that it now possess was also used on the iPad 2 and also has a larger storage that can be as big as 64GB and HDSPA connectivity that can go as fast as 14.4Mbps.
Now it’s time to meet Siri. The new voice assistant can assist you in many ways such as searching your phonebook, texting and calling someone without using your hands, etc. etc. What’s pretty cool about her is she can understand semantics a little bit better compared with other voice assistants that requires specific commands. Also, this chick has personality and humor. We tried speaking to her like a friend saying “I’m hungry”, and there she goes looking for nearest restaurants for you. Too bad when you tell her you love her, she’ll answer you with a cold, “You can’t”. You could also play trivia with her as she has the ability to search through the Wikis. Although, of course she has limitations too and would honestly say, “I don’t have enough information.” Siri is really fun to have around. Yet, you can only get to spend time with her when you are connected to the internet. Sadly, Siri entails data charges and faster battery consumption.
So, should you go and grab an Iphone 4s? In my opinion, If you’re coming from an Iphone3 or earlier phones, it’s a good decision to switch because it’s a great smartphone. But if you already have the Iphone4, you better wait a little longer for the Iphone5. The features added on the Iphone4s are not worth spending your fortune on.
