Rex Smith is a singer based in the United States and has been performing since 1975. For die-hard Rex Smiths fans, they already know that even before he entered the exciting world of music and entertainment, he was actually a heartthrob. In fact, during the late seventies, he was known as a teen icon that all the ladies adored. He was part of the musical broadway show Grease as lead character Danny Zuko, in 1978. Then, from a television career, he switched to something related to music and songwriting. In 1976, together with his band then known as “REX” and also then mainly of hard rock, Rex was starting to create songs that would make everybody fall in love. He began with individual singles such as “You Take My Breath Away” that actually made it to the top 10 of the Billboard Top 100. Just when you thought it was enough for one musician to be able to be part of the top 10, Rex Smith would shoot the ball once again as another song (a remake) of “Everlasting Love” made it into the top 40. His talent was being recognized in other places as well such as the hosting world as he even hosted the 1983 Miss Universe beauty pageant in Peru. To date, Rex Smith has created a whopping eleven albums (the latest came out in the year 2000) and is ready to come back to Manila, Philippines with his Valentine Concert.
