The Philippines has the momentum after Sinag Pilipinas beats Thailand and now heading towards the medal round. Congrats to the Philippine national basketball team, who won against Thailand in men’s basketball competition in the 26th Southeast Asian Games held at the BritAma Arena Sports Manll in Jakarta, Indonesia, Wednesday, November 16.

Sinag Pilipinas beats Thailand, a game that defined who the real leader is in Group A of the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) basketball tournament. On the beginning of the game, Thailand scored the first five points, and they were still has points of 12-10 with 5:36 left during the early game. Then Ateneo’s Greg Slaughter, Nico Salva and Kiefer Ravena made a 12-0 run that the Philippine team took advantage at 22-12. Thailand got no closer than 15 points throughout the ballgame.
Sinag Pilipinas is still undefeated and will battle it out against Malaysia in the crossover semifinals on Friday, November 18 at the Kelapa Gading Sports Mall, Jakarta. The Philippine team ended the Group Stage with 6 points, followed by Thailand with 5, while Vietnam and Cambodia landed in third and fourth places with 4 and 3 points, respectively. Thanks to the defense that went on an excellent offense, as Sinag scored loads of points. Clifford Hodge made 15 points for the Philippines; Kiefer Ravena contributed 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the women’s team Perlas Pilipinas moved to the doorstep of a notable initial SEA Games gold medal by winning against Myanmar, 57-39, and they will play versus with Thailand on Friday.
