On Tuesday, February 5, IHOP has distributed pancakes for charity purpose.
The restaurant chain has been working to inspire diners to draw advantages of the corresponding meal to contribute $3 million to a charity organization called the ‘Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ that works for collecting funds for 170 nonprofit medical centers for children.
The company has collected $10 million and has been hosting the giveaway for eight years. Applebee’s parent DineEquity owns it.
A tower of buttermilk pancakes will be offered at more than 1,500 IHOP restaurants from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The February 5 has been announced by IHOP as the National Pancake Day. The holiday is based on age-old tradition of making pancakes by using all the dairy products prohibited at the time of Lent.
At a Hollywood location on Tuesday, Mallory Hagan, the Miss America 2013, will assist in making and serving pancakes. Recently, some other food chains have started examining business models including do-gooding.
